FAQ

About Grok Imagine Image API

It exposes xAI Grok Imagine image generation with prompt plus aspect_ratio, optional image_urls (up to five files), optional enable Pro, optional upsample_prompt, and optional enable_nsfw aligned with your policy.

Reference images are optional. If image_urls is empty you get pure text-to-image. With one or more URLs the call behaves as an edit grounded in those frames.

They are the same architecture but enable Pro true selects the xai/grok-imagine-image-pro billing key for higher quality settings. Disabled uses xai/grok-imagine-image.

It allows the provider to rewrite or enrich your text prompt prior to sampling, which helps when instructions are short or underspecified.
